Often re-imagining favorite photographs, Judy coaxed multi-visions from a single contact negative over many years using diverse media, colors, textures, styles, decorations and layouts. Sometimes, she added hand-drawn in words that comment on the work’s content or the act of art-making itself, with references to historical imagery ranging from Ancient Egyptian figures to Henri Rousseau’s Sleeping Gypsy.
